What you get for the price

  • Old heater removed, gas line capped, flue sealed
  • New 240V circuit, up to 20 ft from your panel
  • Drain and relief lines up to 20 ft, expansion tank, seismic straps
  • Permit
  • WestLight rebate and loan paperwork

Not included: a panel upgrade, moving the heater, or longer wiring and drain runs. We quote those separately if your home needs them.

How the rebate and loan work

WestLight Energy pays the rebate to us, so it comes straight off your price. A 0% loan, up to $10,000 over 2 to 5 years, covers the rest and is repaid on your PG&E bill. No credit check, no fees. Both are for WestLight Energy customers: check that your PG&E bill lists WestLight Energy.

Replacing the furnace too? The water heater drops in price when it goes in with a heat pump. See the heat pump offer.

What customers say

Quick answers

Will it fit where my gas heater is?

Usually, in a garage or a room big enough for it. The unit is taller than a gas tank. A small closet may need a louvered door or ducting, which we quote separately. We check the spot at the free site visit.

Is the loan really 0%?

Yes. 0% interest, no fees, no credit check, up to $10,000, repaid on your PG&E bill.

Do I wait for a rebate check?

No. WestLight Energy pays us directly, and the rebate comes off your price.

My panel is nearly full. Do I need an upgrade?

Often not. A 120V plug-in model or a shared dryer circuit can avoid one. If an upgrade is still needed, we quote it separately.

I’m outside San Mateo County. Is the price the same?

Prices depend on the home and the ZIP code; the calculator shows yours. The WestLight rebate and 0% loan are only for WestLight Energy customers in San Mateo County.
