Experience Unmatched HVAC Solutions Tailored to Your Home's Needs
Whether your furnace stopped, your AC is blowing warm air, or you’re ready to upgrade to a heat pump, I handle the full process: diagnostics, clear options, permits where required, installation and follow-up service. I focus on single-family homes and small multi-family properties in the Bay Area, keeping your system safe, efficient and comfortable all year round.

Small Company. Big Responsibility.
What I do now
I slow down, test properly, show photos and explain what I find in plain language. I repair when it’s safe and sensible, and I walk you through replacement when it’s truly the better option. I warranty my labor and teach you basic upkeep so your system stays healthy between visits.
- Warranty my labor and teach you basic upkeep.
What I don’t
I don’t pressure you into unnecessary replacements or oversized systems. I don’t hide costs, cut corners on installs, or disappear once you’ve paid. If a simple repair is safe and smart, I’ll say so. If replacement or an upgrade is clearly the better option, I’ll show you the math and let you decide.
- I don’t: push replacements just because they’re easier to sell.
Promises I can keep
Whether it’s a repair, a full system replacement, or routine maintenance, I’ll treat your home like my own, protect your time, and leave the workspace clean. You’ll always know what I’m doing, why I’m doing it, and what it costs — no last-minute surprises on the invoice.

Use as a second opinion
If you’ve already collected quotes and they jump straight to “replace everything”, I can be the calm second opinion. I’ll inspect, test, and explain what’s really going on with your system, then walk you through options: targeted repair, full replacement, or planning a future upgrade. Many homeowners call me before committing to a big install so they can feel confident in the decision.

The human behind the toolbox
I’m Mikhail — the owner-operator and licensed HVAC contractor behind MIHAS HVAC. I grew up where winters hit –35°C, so heat isn’t a luxury — it’s survival.
Today I bring that mindset to homes in the Bay Area. I take care of the whole lifecycle of your system: troubleshooting, repairs, replacements, new installations and ongoing maintenance.
I don’t chase volume or sales quotas. Instead, I:
• spend real time diagnosing your system with proper measurements and instruments
• explain what I find in plain English and show photos or readings
• help you choose between repair, replacement or upgrade, with clear pros, cons and costs
• personally install and commission new equipment so it actually performs as promised
• offer follow-up maintenance so your system keeps running quietly and efficiently.
If you prefer one person who knows your HVAC system end-to-end and is reachable after the job, we’ll work well together.

My Recent Projects

Gree Ducted Heat Pump Replacement with Mitsubishi System
An existing ducted Gree heat pump system was replaced due to excessive noise and poor duct management. We installed a more compact and significantly quieter Mitsubishi heat pump, optimizing the layout for better airflow, service access and overall performance. The result is a much quieter system, improved comfort and a cleaner, more efficient installation that better fits the space.

Gas Water Heater to Heat Pump Water Heater Upgrade

80% Furnace replacement
Mitsubishi heat pump and air handler installed in place of a gas furnace. In this project we removed an existing gas furnace and installed a matching Mitsubishi heat pump with a new air handler tied into the existing ductwork. We verified duct sizing, installed properly sloped condensate drains, upgraded the electrical circuit and set up the controls for smooth switching between modes. The result is even, quiet heating and cooling from one efficient system instead of a noisy, gas-only furnace.
Spicy FAQ (real-world questions)
As an owner-operated business, I personally handle your HVAC needs, ensuring familiarity with your system and accountability for all work.

Only when it truly makes sense. I always start with proper diagnostics to see whether a safe, sensible repair is possible. If a replacement or heat pump upgrade is clearly the better long-term option, I’ll show you the numbers, expected lifespan, energy costs and any available rebates — and then let you decide, with no pressure.
Sometimes. Often it means “too slow to diagnose.” Let me actually test it.
If your system is low on refrigerant, it has a leak. Simply topping it off every season is a band-aid that costs you money and slowly kills the equipment. I use proper gauges, temperature measurements and leak-detection methods to find what’s going on and then offer repair or replacement options that fix the root cause, not just the symptom.
I price for correct diagnostics, safe installation and long-term reliability — not for being the lowest bid. That means time on site, pro-grade tools, proper materials, permits when required and careful commissioning. You’ll see exactly what’s included, and I’m happy to explain where the money goes so you can compare apples to apples with other quotes.
No. A big part of my work is ongoing service: seasonal checkups, filter and drain maintenance, performance tweaks and answering questions when something feels off. My goal is to be “your HVAC person” for the long run, not just for one emergency.
Please do. Photos, short videos and model/serial labels help me understand your system, check parts availability and give you a realistic ballpark before I arrive. It also means I can bring what I need to repair the problem — or, if you’re planning a replacement, to size and quote the new system correctly.
Yes. MIHAS HVAC inc. operates as a licensed C-20 HVAC contractor in California. I’m based in South San Francisco and focus on residential and light commercial work on the Peninsula and nearby areas.
If something I worked on isn’t right, I come back. I warranty my labor for a clear period and I don’t vanish after you pay the invoice. Because I’m both the owner and the technician, you’re not stuck in a call-center loop — just text or call me directly and we’ll make it right.
